Local resident wins our Grand Draw

Local resident Clive Townley was the lucky winner of the top prize in the Swanage RNLI Lifeboat Week Grand Draw.
Clive was presented with the original artwork at the Swanage lifeboat station by renowned artist Antonia Phillips.

Antonia kindly donated an original painting which featured the Swanage Lifeboat for the Grand Draw. Antonia has been a long term supporter of Swanage Lifeboat and their crew, even helping the crew to create some of their own artwork in the past.

Clive, who volunteers as a boathouse attendant at Swanage Lifeboat Station was delighted to win the painting saying;

‘I'm thrilled to receive the painting and already have a space lined up for the painting to hang!’.

The Swanage lifeboat fundraisers, headed by Angela Morris, sold tickets during the summer and the winning tickets were drawn during lifeboat week. The sale of tickets raised more than £1500 which will be dedicated to the Swanage Appeal that is raising funds for the new boathouse.

Open air theatre Sun 11 Aug at 7pm

This years open air theatre event at Prince Albert Gardens taking place on Sunday, August 11th again at the earlier time of 7pm.
Swanage Lifeboat and The Rain or Shine Theatre Company invite you to witness the comical confusion and chaotic capers of Shakespeare's hilarious masterpiece of mistaken identity that is ..... THE COMEDY OF ERRORS. Combining adventure, human folly, farce, romance and suspense, the clever and original plot shows a high degree of genius and creativity and is suitable for adults and children alike.

Once upon a time....two sets of identical twin babies and their parents survived a shipwreck. Fate, however, decreed that the family should be spilt up, the mother one way, and the father and one of each twin another, and the final pair a third way....

Twenty-five years later, in search of their long lost family, two of the twins, Antipholus of Syracuse and his manservant, Dromio, arrive in Ephesus, a city reputedly full of rogues, cheats and sorcerers.

Although this is their first visit merchants greet them as acquaintances, woman pursue them as lovers, and Ephesus appears to be a place where everybody knows their names!

Tickets £11.50 Adults / £5 Children (5 to 15) in advance. £13.50 Adults / £6 Children (5 to 15) on the door.

Tickets on sale at The Lifeboat Shop, Swanage Tourist Information Centre (01929 422885), Corbens Estate Agents, also via Ticketweb

Grounds open from 5:45pm for picnics. Bar / Tea / Coffee and Pimms all available at PAG.

Please bring your own seating, blanket and something warm, just in case!
