'Lifeboatique' at Swanage Lifeboat Week

One of the stalls at this Sunday's Lifeboat Fair in Prince Albert Gardens is 'Lifeboutique'.

The stall is run by Becky King and Kim Notley, our coxswain's daughters-in-law, and will be filled with homemade wares, either crafted by the girls themselves or generously donated by others - they'll even be exclusively selling jam made by the RNLI's Head of Fleet Operations!

As well as a stall-full of handmade and vintage goods, Becky and Kim will also be teaching finger knitting. For £1, children (and adults) can choose a ball of wool and learn how to make a necklace, bracelet, bandanna, tail or belt to take home.

The wool has been very kindly donated by the Swanage Wool & Craft Shop.

You can find out more about the girls' crafts here at Becky's blog, Dorothy Does.

Duck race winners

Our duck race was a great success with about 1200 ducks racing down the stream from the Post Office to The Mowlem.

The results were as follows:

1st place = Duck 160
2nd place =  Duck 710
3rd place = Duck 985

Thanks to all that took part and thanks to the owners of duck 160 who kindly donated £20 of their £100 first prize back to the RNLI.

Book stall & SMiles row cancelled

Due to the inclement weather we have had to cancel a couple of events.

Weds 15th Aug - Book stall
Thurs 16th Aug - SMiles row, Bournemouth to Swanage

Sorry about the short notice but we've been hanging on until the last minute hoping that the weather would improve. Fingers crossed it'll be fine for the weekend ahead.
